OUR OPERATIONS IN UKRAINE
Across Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kherson, more than 500 FSD staff members work each day to make land safe again. By clearing mines, raising awareness and strengthening national capacities, they allow local communities to return home, rebuild their livelihoods and walk in safety.
They’re adorable — and expert deminers too!
In Ukraine, FSD’s mine detection dogs are learning to detect hidden explosives with their super noses and wagging tails. Trained alongside dedicated handlers, they’re getting ready to support humanitarian demining operations and make war-affected land safe again.
Before the detectors start beeping
In Ukraine, FSD surveyors talk to residents, trace the legacy of conflict and map where explosives still hide — all before detectors are used. This first step guides clearance teams to priority areas, opening the way for children to play, farmers to return to their fields and families to rebuild their lives.
For a safer world
Fields once littered with remnants of war now provide food, children can play without fear, and communities are rebuilding—discover our work.
