Born in 1955, Henri passed his school years in Egypt, Brazil, Italy and France. In 1972, he studied economics and the social sciences in Bern and St. Gallen and obtained a law degree from University of Geneva in 1980. As a lawyer, registered with the Geneva bar since 1991, he specialized in commercial, international law, private, family law, successions and criminal law for minors.

Henri founded and participated as a board member in the creation and management of various non-profit organizations, particularly in the field of victim assistance, the reintegration of young persons in difficult situations, and the fight against the threat of landmines.

Henri co-founded the FSD in July 1997 as Vice-President, and has been presiding over the FSD Foundation Board since 1999. During this decade, Henri Leu has visited numerous FSD operations worldwide.
