Typhoon Ketsana severely hit the city of Manila during the past week end, generating heavy damages to people and infrastructures.

At the moment, the dead toll is still raising and the number of homeless and displaced population reaching 500,000.

At the moment the population is lacking basic services  such as clean water and shelter, basic food and not food items; some areas are still not reachable and damages still have to be counted in their totality.

A new Typhoon is expected to hit the city again during the coming week end.

We have a team in country conducting emergency assessment of  needs and coordinating with other agencies to support immediately the affected population.
