It is with great regret that FSD bids farewell to Marc Farineau, Operations Manager in Sri Lanka. Marc Farineau has been with FSD since 2001. Throughout, Marco has been a passionate advocate for FSD's cause, a great instructor and supervisor for thousands of national deminers, and a hard working, dedicated, good-friend and colleague to many international staff.

He helped launch and manage 6 mine action teams in year 2002, which is currently over 700 deminers strong and a major programme in Sri Lanka. Marc Farineau was also a foundational driving force behind the milestone in Anti Personnel landmine removal by surpassing 40,000 mines cleared in 2011.

Marc Farineau is stepping down to concentrate on a number of personal goals. He leaves a legacy that will be incredibly difficult to match by any successor to the role.

FSD would like to convey best wishes to Marc in his future endeavors and have no doubt that success will continue to follow him wherever he goes.
