Zak was born and educated in the United Kingdom where he still resides. He has a MA in Development Practice from Oxford Brooks University. Zak served for 17 yeas as a Navy Clearance Diver with the Royal Navy before entering the field of Mine Action in 2000. Over the last decade Zak has worked in a number of mine affected countries including Laos, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Mozambique, and the Lebanon. During this time he has gained experience working both in the humanitarian and commercial Mine Action sector.
