Nigel Robinson is the current Programme Manger of FSD in Sri Lanka. Nigel spent 12 years in the British Army as an Engineering a Reconnaissance Officer where he also gained a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Cranfield Institute of Technology. After his military career, Nigel spent 2 years working in Sales and Marketing for an IT outsourcing company before taking on the challenge of establishing and running the US office of The HALO Trust.

Over a 5 year period, Nigel not only raised $5million from the private sector for HALO demining activities but also was instrumental in starting a militia disarmament programme in Afghanistan and a variety of other projects in Cambodia, Angola and South Sudan.

Now after 2 years as a management consultant, based in New York, Nigel is back in the mine action sector and enjoying the challenge of running a large scale demining programme. His wife, Shari, and two boys, Sebastian and Tristan have joined him in Sri Lanka.
